I voted.

Now I don't have to hate myself.

How on earth do the Republicans expect to get any votes with candidates like Dick Mountjoy and Michael Jackson?   Fureelz, guys.

There's something I don't know

Okay, so now Richard Burger tells me this:  "I would not apply to Harvard if you really want to return to California. I am sure that you will get into either UCLA and UCSanta Barbara, and with any luck, both of them."

WHY are you sure?  Do Stanish and Scrhreiber owe you some blood debt?  Am I a mere pawn in your clandestine schemings? Whence comes this creepy confidence?

If he's wrong, McDonald's patties aren't the only Burgers I'm going to be flipping next year.

Oh my goodness, J. Crew has a wedding shop.

That's what they call a win-win.

I just had an epiphany.

I shouldn't stress myself out over my grad school applications, because if I don't get it, it solves my why-didin't-I-take-time off problem.

I also had a flu shot.

This is all kinds of awesome.

I had the bird book memorized at five too.

Music

What is up with "Scarborough Fair" and "Girl From the North Country?"  Why are the lyrics so similar?  "Remember me to one who lives there; she once was a true love of mine?" Who copied whom?  It's been bothering me for a few years now and I just had to get it out.

Speaking of music...I haven't listened to a Beatles album all the way through in a long time.  They're still the best.  I just overdid it last spring or something. I am rediscovering Nine Inch Nails again, and not just because I'm feeling angsty.  It's absolutely brilliant music-making. Their early work is so pure. But who I've really gotten into is Tori Amos. She is probably my favorite muscian right now and has something for every single mood of mine.  Plus, she's female, and somehow right now that makes a difference.

I also absolutely adore Ryan Adams' album Gold.  It's so beautiful.  I should check out the rest of his stuff.

And did I mention YouTube?

I really like Letterman now.

 Oh jeez.

I got work done. Score.

The self-doubt kicked in again, so I killed it by reading all of Richard Burger's Chavin book in one night.  Yay for re-motivation.

I really do like my classes.  I do.  I like the reading.  It's that step where reading becomes research that kills me.

I went to the senior Masquerade Ball last night with Emily.  We dressed as cats without ears or tails.  Otherwise known as cute goth-lite girls with whiskers.  Yeah, laziest Halloween costume ever.  Emily dragged me out of my sweatpants we decided to go at 10:30.

I've been a bad bad blogger.  You think I spent no time on the internets.  Ha.  Ha.  Stupid Facebook, YouTube, fandom sites, LiveJournal (ahaha, here's where I admit guilt at last), other people's music, YOU TUBE, Wikipedia (wtf?),  political sites I've finally started visiting again (didja hear there's an election?) and did I mention YOU TUBE.

Old suite reunion brunch tomorrow.

I'm too lazy to link to this, but apparently there's a fake documentary coming out about the October 2007 assassination of President Bush.  Sounds like I should take notes.

Arnold Schwarzenegger is a poser.  If you're reading this from Cali, don't vote for him.  Remember how he whored himself out for Bush in 2004?  Don't let his newfound cooperative spirit fool you.  He's still driving those Hummers.

I forgot Spanish.
