Stfu, Tripod!
MOVING.

Dear Santa:

I wish I were J.K. Rowling.  I really, really do.

I have no idea what I want for Christmas this year.  I already got my ultimate request, My First Democratic Dream House® (Now with bonus Senate playset!).  I want a bunch of archaeology books that I can read when I don't have to write horrible papers on them and angst about how I wish I were a famous childrens' author in Britain.  I want the godawful Bleach and Naruto fillers to end, but that's up to the anime gods.  I know I eventually want a new laptop that can burn DVDs and actually accomodate normal software updates.  But it makes more sense to wait for graduation.  I got a tattoo already, and green sneakers, and a Yale class ring, and a giant check for simply existing.  And I absolutely do not need more clothing.  I already own J. Crew.

On a completely unrelated note, Tripod is getting more and more difficult to deal with.  I have trouble accessing it sometimes for no apparent reason.  It's tempting to move to Blogger, or something like it but I want to keep the old entries accessible.  Maybe I'll just post a link to the old site.  It's running out of space anyway.  Alternatively, I could just use LJ for everything...hehehe...when worlds collide.

I can't wait for this week to be over.  Rainy weather, paper, presentation and all.  And then Jenny comes.  And then break, aka time to hole myself up and start my senior project, yep.

Eat your words.
This is old, but timely once again.  Not to mention amusing.

At last.

Remember two years ago...how we clung to hope?

It has come, finally.

Now the giddy glee of "victory" has passed, and the real joy sets in.  The feeling that everything we've been working for is finally beginning to bloom, just when we'd turned from it in abandonment.  I feel like I won't ever hear the words, "Mom, what was voting like?"

The cycle turns.

And it's not time to stop working.  It's time to start.

Because the revolution's here...

Rummy's out.  The House is ours and the Senate lies in the balance.  Revenge is sweet, especially when served with a sprinkling of enlightenment.

This is the article on the election I wish I'd written.  But then I would have had to have watched Fox News.

WOOOOOOOO!
Mood:  celebratory

DEMOCRATS IN 'DA HOUUUUSE!

The Senate may still be in GOP hands, but they've lost three seats so far.  As it stands, the Republicans have gained nothing this election.  Not even a governorship. Not bad for a party that, frankly, sucks at campaigning.

Rick "Captain Homophobe" Santorum and Ken "Electioneer" Blackwell got handily pwned.  George Allen (of Macaca fame) is still neck and neck with Democrat Jim Webb. If Allen wins...*headdesk*

Alas, in my own adopted state, Lieberman managed to pull a solid victory despite looking more and more like Droopy every time he comes on TV.  You win some, you lose some.

It makes me feel okay about democracy.  If there's a silver lining to the Bush administration's shameless botching of everything ever, it's the fact that "Republican" is no longer a synonym for "competent."

Now let's cross the fingers for the Senate.  There is always hope...

This is so weird.  I always read these descriptions of Capricorns, about how they're practical and patient and whatnot, and I always think there's no way I can be a Capricorn.  So I decided to take a test to find out what Zodiac sign fits my personality, based on things like what colors I like, how I spend my free time, and what kind of gifts I like to receive.  Lo and behold, I got this:

Discover your Zodiac Personality
Discover your Zodiac Personality @ Quiz Me

Maybe there's something to this astrology crap after all. ;)

Fuzzy logic

Tony Blair came out against Saddam Hussein's sentence, stating that he opposed the death penalty "whether it's Saddam or anyone else."

Funny how he opposes the death penalty for this very guilty Iraqi, yet had no problem with it for thousands of innocent ones.

NSF app is IN.

I wrote the last essay in only a few hours and it's just as good as the other two.  Funny ha ha.

*Squee!*
